I was at major retail chain store in the frozen food aisle. I went to open the frozen food door to reach in for the frozen chopped onions, and my left foot slipped from under me. It happened really fast and I fell hard, but I held on to the cart. I looked down and there was a puddle of water there on the floor, no sign, no warning, nothing.
I was afraid to move, then when I tried to walk away my foot slipped again. It was hard to gain traction. My left side hurts inside, like the muscle is pulled. They finally came and took a report. They gave me an icy-hot type patch for my muscle.
I don't know what to do now. I can't afford to miss work. Do you have any ideas on what I could do? Thanks.

The first thing you need to do is seek professional medical help. Go to your nearest hospital or medical clinic. The doctors there may send you for an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) examination or a CAT Scan (also called a CT Scan).
A CAT Scan (Computerized Axial Tomography) is an x-ray procedure that combines many x-ray images with the aid of a computer to generate cross-sectional views and, if needed, three-dimensional images of the internal organs and structures of the body. A CAT scan is used to define normal and abnormal structures in the body and/or assist in procedures by helping to accurately guide the placement of instruments or treatments.
Get a copy of the Report from the major retail food store. They shouldn’t have a problem giving you one. Don’t mention anything about lawsuits or filing claims against them.
Once you have documented your injuries, if they turn out to be broken bones, torn ligaments, or tendons, you may have grounds for a claim against the supermarket. Hopefully your injuries are only bruising and you will heal rather quickly.
Since laws change frequently and across jurisdictions you should get a personalized case evaluation from an attorney licensed in your state (if you haven't already). Find an experienced local attorney to give you a FREE personalized case review here.
Best of luck,
