On the Job Injury

I was employed as chief mate on a tow boat when I injured my back. Every lawyer I contacted has refused my case. To a man they all said because it is not a slam dunk they don't want it. Two told me there isn't enough money in it for them. What do I have to do to get a "reputable" lawyer to help me?

Answer:

Sorry to tell you this, but I'm sure every other lawyer you have spoken with has more information than you gave here. Therefore, if they don't think it's a case worth taking, it probably isn't.

There could be a number of reasons you can't find an attorney to take it (e.g. questionable liability, minor injuries). Keep in mind that attorneys aren't in the business of refusing work. If they are refusing it, there's a reason.

Good luck,

P.S. It's always best to get a free case review from a local injury attorney. Laws change from state to state. Only an attorney licensed in your state can give accurate answers to specific questions regarding your case.
