I have a hospital malpractice claim which I am attempting to settle myself. My question is: Can I get compensated for the time I've spent compiling the claim? Thanks.

ANSWER for "Can I be compensated for the time I spend compiling a claim?":
When a person sues for medical malpractice, it is based upon the medical disability that occurs. The value of these claims is based upon things such as medical expenses, disability and whether the medical malpractice has lead to a permanent condition.
There are also things that are simply assumed or expected in cases, one of which is the time spent compiling such a claim. There is really no way to put a value on that since the assumption is that you would have to file a claim in order to have a claim in the first place, and you would be "compensated" for it in a round about way if you win your case.
Since laws change frequently and across jurisdictions you should get a personalized case evaluation from an attorney licensed in your state (if you haven't already). Find an experienced local attorney to give you a
