How much should I counter offer for this car accident settlement?

I was rear ended on the highway while slowing down for traffic. I had some back and neck injuries. I went to my doctor, then physical therapy followed by several months of chiropractic care.

Now the insurance company has offered me a settlement of $4,300. What would be a reasonable counter offer?

Personal injury settlements are based upon medical bills, out-of-pocket expenses and lost wages for the most part. Therefore, we would need to know these numbers to determine whether your settlement is fair and what an appropriate counter-offer would look like.

If your medical bills are low, for example under $1,500 I would say this amount is in the range of fairness. If your medical bills are above $2,000 however, you will need to do some re-negotiating.
