How much for a head on collision?

I was driving on a highway going under the speed limit when a car crossed the center lane and hit me head on. The driver fell asleep. I still have neck pain after many treatments. Now I don't know if it will ever go away.

What do you think I should do? What is a fair amount to ask for settlement? Thanks for any info you can give.

The first thing you should do is take care of your health, that should always come first. There will be plenty of time for legal matters.

Hopefully you were somehow able to acquire the at-fault driver’s insurance information. You should contact the insurance company and reference the collision. Once filed you will soon be contacted by the insurance company’s representative. They are commonly known as Claims Adjusters.

It's highly probable sometime soon after the collision the at-fault driver contacted her insurance company to report the collision. When she did the Claims Adjuster began an investigation.

Presuming the Claims Adjuster has decided to accept liability on behalf of her insured she will advise you to submit your medical bills to her. Normally they will be paid as they come in. In the case of a head on collision we can only presume you will require therapy. As a result we advise you not to settle your case merely by allowing the insurance company to pay your medical bills.

If you allow the Claims Adjuster to pay only your medical bills and no more you may forfeit your rights to collect additional monies for your therapy into the future.
