Compensation for Loss of Work

I was stopped at a stop sign awaiting an opening in traffic when I was hit from behind. I felt light headed the day of the crash and it continued for a couple of days at least.

How much should I expect for loss of work and would I receive a multiple of my wages?

What if there is no actual loss of wages as the employer pays for illness days off?

Answer:

If you are paid lost wages through one source, don't expect another source to pay. Before any insurance company is going to pay your lost wages, they are going to confirm everything with your employer. If your employer hasn't paid you, the insurance company will give you a percentage - probably 80% - of your lost wages.
